On September 6, Milton Keynes Table Tennis Centre hosted its second annual ladies charity table tennis tournament. Fourteen women took part, raising £650 for Breast Cancer Now and collecting more than 100 bras for recycling. The event was organised by Julie Snowdon, a Table Tennis England staff member and secretary of the centre. It was built around fun and fair play, with two group rounds followed by a main event and a consolation final. Most participants came from the centre's monthly ladies-only table tennis sessions. The tournament was not a professional ranking event, but it showed how community sport can create social impact. The next ladies-only session is scheduled for November 1 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the centre, and donations can still be made through Julie Snowdon's Just Giving page.
